Suggested hair styles: French braids, buns, spider webs
Finish with very strong hairspray like Rave
Add glitter spay
Watch pig tail too far to the side due to the gymnast pulling their hair back on extension rolls
Appearance/Gym Bags
No jewelry or bright nail or toe polish. Most judges allow small stud earrings.
Have a pair of socks in the gym bag. Many of the competition sites have concrete floors and get very cold.
Pack a water bottle in the gym bag (small crackers or gold fish if your child has blood sugar issues)
Arrival
Arrive at your competition approximately 30 minutes prior to the warm up time and check in immediately with your coach- be prompt
If you are going to be late- call a coach on their cell or another parent if you cannot reach the coach
Do not arrive early to sit and watch other gymnasts perform (may make them nervous). Anatoli feels very strongly about this!
Feed child a meal prior to arriving- there is no time to eat during the warm up or competition.
Have gymnast ready – dressed in competition attire, bag ready, grips, tape, bottle of water prior to going out on the floor. Once they enter the floor they are the coach's responsibility.

Sportsmanship
Talk to your gymnast about good sportsmanship during the competition and at the awards ceremony
No talking while fellow gymnast is performing or receiving their award- cheer them on and congratulate them when finished
